More "services" like those to "secure" MS Windows wink
" DeGroot said Microsoft is learning a lot by doing things firsthand. But he added that handling desktops is still a tough issue and that Microsoft's own technology can be part of the challenge. "Some of these problems are baked into the quality of the operating system and the tools that Microsoft has in things like Group Policy," he said."

MS management tools are part of the problem. Especially when U have to push patches to 10,000s of machines ... good luck with.

"The key question, DeGroot said, is what Microsoft does with the know-how it gains. It could just improve its software. Alternatively, it might see desktop management as something that it can offer directly in some standardized way, perhaps through an online service."

As in the MS "security" model, MS instead of FIXING ITS SECURITY it offered to do this on the side for a handsome FEE.

WHO believes that MS WONT try to tap into the lucrative SERVICES business of MANAGING ITS own beasts at an equally handsome fee?

They want to make more money. The issue is WHY ON EARTH its more faithful users NOT DEMAND FROM MS BETTER MANAGEMENT TOOLS IN THE FIRST PLACE?

It is the Era of MASSIVE CONFUSION AND MASOCHISM wink Not?
