Good that MS got handson
being isolated from the target user does not make for a better product, you have to see real world deployment and those risks, duties, and benefits associated outside the 'zoo'.

Good that a solution was sought with the vendor, so many people and companies keep to themselves a lot of the mid level issues that make managment of their hardware/software a blessing or nightmare to themselves, resulting often in the next generation of said items being so similar to prior that the same problems crop up again.

Also, companies and people need to research whether they need to move on to different solutions altogether. For some, a different OS with different trappings and boons may be the way to go, but they need to investigate what is out there that meets their business/personal needs. Just getting off one bus and onto another doesn't mean you'll get somewhere, or to your destination at all.

Managing desktops the world way, maybe MS is going to see that they operate too much inside the box at Redmond. AS for their 'baked' goods, . . yep, I've said that the spaghetti they made needed untangling, now I see that's baked as well. Yummy. Now fix it. IMO
