Fair enough but the GPL goes much further than other licenses that are in place to protect the programmer's freedoms. Calling GPL code "free" next to BSD licensed code is like calling a BMW M3 "cheap" next to a Honda Fit. Sure, the M3 (GPL) might be "cheap" compared to a Ferrari (closed source) but most people would probably argue with you if you ever called the M3 a "cheap" car.
