Hydrogen as a fuel
Whether you make hydrogen by electrolysis of water or by reaction with magnesium you wll get less energy out than you put in---guaranteed. If you use fossil fuels you will generate more polution for the electricity generated going through a fuel cell than you will without the fuel cell. With magnesium, where do you get the magnesium---that's magnesium metal not the oxide? No matter the path followed you will get less out than you put in. In short, a hydrogen economy is a dead issue! The only values that fuel cells have lie in mobility or some very special, limited use and you pay a price for those. When you have summed it all up, put all the facts in, it will be either more polution or reduced efficiency or both.
