- This is an excellant idea! One good source of testing this device would be at firefighting training facilities. Firefighters learn rappelling as part of advanced training and this device would be a great additional tool, especially when used for rescuing trapped victims in hi-rise bldgs damaged by earthquake, fire, or other major catastrophe.
