World wide there are 435 reactors operating with another 28 reactors being built and 64 on order with an additional 158 proposed world wide. As nuclear power grows and we get better at controlling, containing and disposing of waste it will continue to be part of our infra structure around the world.

Top 5 nuke power countries:
1 - United State = 103 operating reactors
2 - France = 59 operating reactors
3 - Japan = 55 operating reactors
4 - Russia = 31 operating reactors
5 - South Korea = 20 operating reactors

Other then Chernobyl and 3 mile island there have not been any major accidents with nuclear power. Those two incidents and the lack of understanding and education are what have hobbled nuclear power. It's not going away. And with pebble bed reactors and other innovations it will only become more prevalent. devil
