Only if we can store the waste in your back yard
The biggest problem with nuclear power has always been what to do with the resulting fallout (for lack of a better word). For good reasons, nobody wants it near him and nobody wants it transported through his home town, regardless of the safety precautions.

Until we solve that problem (for real), expanding nuclear power is not a viable option. Personally, I don't think it will happen.
