It will take time to make LED avilable
LED will increase it's share but it will be 15-20 years until they come affordable and available. Fluorescents and compact fluorescents are a good choice. Using them with electronic ballast is highly recommended and please use only lamps with Ra index above 80 (standard fluorescents have Ra index of 50-70)unless you are using them for industrial purposes. This gives much better light quality and with different colors available i.e. 2700K for home use, 3200K for warm office light, 4000K for bright office, schools and shops and 6000K for daylight effect. Its possible to get lamps with Ra index of more than 95 (sunlight has Ra 100) for use in printing and where you need to see all colors correctly. So we have a good solution to day to save energy and have comfortable long life lamps and hopefully things will progress and new light sources like LED will take over.
