Color Will Be the Issue
The problem with fluorescent and other forms of energy-efficient lighting is the color and flicker and how it they effect the eye. If they can adjust these to properly emulate the common light bulb, or better yet, the Sun, then they will be on to something. I do not use fluorescent at work because it produces eye-strain and headaches.
