The goal FWIW (for what its worth)
Assuming a long-term lease/finance arrangement, I think the monthly cost should be significantly less (1/2) compared to present costs, and if the system(s) were an outright purchase, even less.

That would be the goal for widespread use, but under no circumstances would it be viable to anyone except major pollutant producers (where the benefit goes to all of society) if the cost was anything more than present, provided other less expensive sources still exist.

Also, I would hope and expect the life for most of the system to go well beyond 20 years by repairing/replacing some fraction of its components periodically.

Lastly, I predict a future where the length (necessity) of the typical work-week is reduced significantly, as there will be more people than what is needed to man the work-place otherwise. Productivity efficiencies outstrips demand.
