I think people are sometimes a bit paranoid whenever they hear the phrase "nuclear power plant", but then again, as you point out, the risks are not to be taken lightly.

I absolutely love the idea of solar farms because of these attributes: Completely free fuel, safe, renewable, zero emissions, simple technology (compared to other energy sources), scalable (need more power output? Just add more units, as opposed to rebuilding the whole power plant), no dependence on foreign oil, etc...
