I dunno

there is also the fact of using your indoor lighting less frequently helps as well on many levels. A habit I finally got the kids into. During daylight hours we use natural lighting as much as possible. There are exceptions obviously but by reducing how much you use your lights will also affect their life span as well as wattage usage.

Another thing is most of the new energy efficient bulbs put out more lumens (as noted in the article) with less power and from what I am seeing they actually last longer than a regular bulb with a lower heat signature as well. To back up what I am seeing I have included a couple links.

We as a nation need to start thinking green, sustainable and renewable now. California has finally decided to follow much of the Kyoto accord which has Bush and company pretty peeved. The oil companies are ticked as well. Too bad, they need to go the way of the dinosaur. All I can see are good things coming of this move. California will be the American leader in green technology and implementing it.

And since we have the 6th largest economy in the world, I think we have the financial clout to make it happen. It's great to be the leader in keeping our home clean and ecologically safe!
