It's obvious why this came about
Basiclly it showed the Google that If you're going to steal confidential info we'll tie you up in court long enough that you can't act on it, and it'll cost you a bundle too.

I would imagine the rest of the industry is happy that google got the message loud and clear as most companies don't have the resources that MS does to fight off this kind of thing. And you KNOW that Google would try something like this on companies like Intuit, and others...
