Almost like looking in a mirror...
You practically described MY family!!

We don't do the camping thing much anymore, but we take our kids to the gym with us 4 times a week. The kids swim or play basketball while we work out. We go to tae kwon do 3 times a week with our kids. I actually teach some of the classes there now. We are now a family of black belts. We do not worry much about our son & daughter leaving the house. They CAN defend themselves, if they ever need to, and they are both in quite good shape.

It's good to hear of another family that is actually family instead of people who live together.
