I have assumed, based on his writing, that he is American
So am I. That doesn't mean that we can't see the problems that America has. It actually means we see them better than someone who sees America through the media in another country.

I'll be the first to say things like the education system in America is collapsing, litigation is completely out of control, and the government is owned by enterprise. We're the fattest, laziest, most whining group of people you're likely to find in one place. We take responsibility for nothing. And on and on.

Not all of us fit all of the stereotypes, but there is some truth behind each of them, with the population viewed as a whole.

One of the greatest things about America is we can speak about it like this and not get arrested.

I gotta go - there is someone pounding on my front door.
