The existence of healthy people...
... doesn't refute my argument.

Summarized, I'm saying that many people become overweight because they're using food for purposes other than sustenance. Instead of finding the problem that causes overeating, there's an industry of people who are attempting to force a program of strict control of diet and exercise on them. Rules set not by overweight people themselves, but by prescriptive people who enjoy taking control of others. These programs fail. People instinctively rebel, and their old problems probably (I'm guessing here) feel like freedom, natural behavior.

What you're describing sounds like a healthy family, if a bit strict. You're not following the orders of anyone outside the family, are you? There's no program controlling you, and you're not measuring every bit of food, or having someone else set your menu, or doing things you don't want to do.

If you're enjoying yourself, I certainly wouldn't want to discourage you.
