Ever so modest...
I think Google's success is based less upon "booming web traffic" and more upon Google's outright superior, innovative, useful, /AND/ fun services. I have a Gmail account, I use Google Maps, I use Google's search bar installed in Firefox more often than the address bar. Google has more Google Search Ads than any other major website out there, and I am sure they profit the most from their own ad service.

Provide quality with healthy dosages of innovation, and you, too, will succeed.
