Listen, here's the deal. Computers are important. They are an
extention of the human mind and of our communication
skills?the thing that puts us at the top of the food chain. They
are the single most important tool in the furtherment of human
evolution. If I had time, I'd put a finer point on it.

My point is, you seem unprepared to enter into a
conversation about the "subjective". This is exactly where the
rubber meets the road. Prefering to stack numbers up to see
which is bigger is not where this conversation ends. It does
nothing but scratch the suface. Are Macs and PCs mutually
exclusive?no. But subtlties are vital in evolution and this is what
we're talking about. PC pathologists are a dime a dozen, they
run numbers up and down the flagpole, but why is Apple
producing arguably better equipment? Because they engineer
the experience. The bottom line is you have to be prepared to
enter into the subjective discussions these days or you might as
well go home. The most important component to
modern computing is the one between your ears. The machine
that cooperates more with your brain should win, not
necessarilly the one with the best specs. I happen to
know of a company that understands this implicitly. The choice
of hardware is almost incosequential...the experience is critical..
the software is critical to the experience. The choice has to be a
mini over a dell because this is how we should evolve. If the
price point opens the door?so be it. The mini will not "turn-off"
the PC user. The specs are fine. The experience is markedly
better and the jury is coming in.

Computing is increasingly a partnership between a vendor and a
user. It is a blending of sensibilities. May we all be forever happy
with our choices.

To those other comments: I'll let someone who volunteers that
he has no viruses or worms call me defensive. I'll let that same
PC user call the 2% Mac market "sheep". At the end of the day
though I'll choose to understand that the computer is the most
important tool to mankind since fire and that the decisions we
make are critical to where we find ourselves in the future. And I
won't let a diatribe from someone who wants a 7200rpm drive
rather than a 4200rpm drive call me confused. If OSX is great
and XP is just "very good". Why in heavens name are you still
using it?
