U.S. slips lower in coding contest

I don't know how many ways I can say this....

WE HAVE BEEN, AND CONTINUE TO BE SLEEPING AT THE WHEEL!!!

I suppose it is simply human nature. Once a people reaches the
top..the fall begins. Arrogance sets in. The drive to do great
things slips a few notches because well great things were done
already and resting on one's laurels does seem fair does it not?
There are even those who's very faith threatens us, for they
believe in their hearts that we as a nation are BLESSED BY GOD!
and when you believe that well then there is nothing to fear
cause well your country is blessed by God and you need fear no
one who is NOT blessed by God now do you?

How many times has history shown the rise and fall of nations?
Why do we think we are immune. Egypt and Rome were on top
of the food chain of nations for centuries and we as the United
States have barely been the number one power on the globe for
what? Maybe 50 years if that....and yet there are those who
strut around thinking it will NOT happen to us..why? All that
technolgoy means is that a nation can achieve world dominance
in one instant and loose it in the next. All tech has done is
speed EVERYTHING up..include the rise and fall of nations.
