..Wages are prohibitively expensive,....

No the are not, but they cannot compete with $1/day Chinese labor, nor do we want to.

..healthcare costs
for employees are skyrocketing at 3x the rate of the country's inflation....

This is true, a serious problem that the courageous pols don't want to touch.

..the country is graduating less Engineers &
Scientists...

The best and brightest are still here it's just that a lot of them come from other parts of the world for post-grad studies.

..Americans have been lulled into thinking that someone else will take care of them...

Don't know where you think this is just an American problem. Have you looked around Europe lately?

..Rising oil prices & unemployment,....

Not too sure what the oil price has to do with anything but the US unemployment rate is one of the lowest is the West.
Compared to Germany/France, there is no problem.
Don't know about you're particular corner.

.. I'm glad I don't live there...

With a doom n' gloom attitude like that, so are we. You wouldn't fit in.
