OK, let's see, you say the bill will be easy to enforce. How much more money have you provided to the FTC for enforcement? The FTC acknowledges that they do not have the manpower to even go after the obvious scams in email where they can even track the spammer. How will these new laws change that?
Saying attorneys general are uncomfortable with Federal laws that pre-empt stricter state laws is like saying George Bush is uncomfortable with Al Queda.
The criticisms of opt-out are not that they don't work. If you think that you must have your hands over your ears going la, la, la while people have been saying for years the problem with opt-out is that it doesn't scale. I don't give a damn whether it works or not. I'm not about to spend my time and resources paying for your campaign contributor's spam. You did take thousands from the DMA didn't you? No wonder you took that bribe and wrote the law the DMA wanted. Senator Wyden, you are no better than a spammer. You are a crooked politician.
