Not true...
It's always easy to pretend that Indian tech workers are poor, defenseless beasts chained to desks and working for scraps. The reality is they are very rich by local standards, and are MORE likely to value family time because, like other nations with 1000s of years of cultural history on the same patch of land, families are all in the immediate area. The typical American, in contrast, often lives far away from family, and besides, we are a nation of immigrants and thus more individualisic.

So, no, they aren't going to get MORE work out of the typical Indian. They might get cheaper, though there are costs associated with outsourcing as well, particularly for a first run product where you need the ability to dynamically respond to changed requirements - something local teams do well and remote teams do less well.
