Only because more systems use MS as an OS instead of UNIX. Note that as MS-XP becomes more widespread, the older OSs are being left alone. Hackers/Virus generators want the biggest bang for their buck. Today, that means Microsoft and it's latest systems. You now see an increasing number going after LINUX now that more systems are using it. UNIX is difficult to code compared to Visual Basic and that is why you don't see more attacks. They just don't want to waste their time when they can do more damage by attacking Microsoft.
