Sounds like a case of personal use of
company time and money. If your forwarding to friends, the mail must not be business related. And since you are obviously spending your employer's money doing personal stuff on the internet, firing would be an appropriate action. The only reason you would be getting so much junk mail at your office e-mail address is if you were giving that address out while visiting non work related web sites.

Very few employees need e-mail to do their jobs. There are internal messaging apps such as Turbo Notes that would take care of all the internal communications without e-mail.

E-mail and unfettered internet activity on the job is quickly being stopped. All of this waste is one major reason we are seeing the off shoring today. The American worker is losing their productivity and this country's work ethic has gone down the toilette.
