Chainmail and garbage mail
People generate their own version of spam by FWD'ing every freaking piece of email they "think" is worthy of sharing with their friends. Add typical spam on top of all this and you have a inbox filled with garbage. If a medium to large business does not have filters setup to trap chainmail/garbage mail then they will lose more than just a day of employee productivity.
