Public floggings and hangings???
>>>Yes I also believe in public floggings and hangings.<<<

Since this guy is in Britain he would, of course, fall under British jurisdiction and laws. Something I am not particularly versed in.

From your post I would guess you would also be in favor of getting rid of that pesky 8th Amendment thingy and forget about presumption of innocence. He was arrested so he has to be guilty, right? Why waste money on a trial?

The odd thing is I'm not sure, without doing some legal research, that this would even be a crime in America, other than posing as a public official and wire fraud. It is definitely a cause of action for a tort of enotional distress. It is rather sick. Of course he could be sick. Remember to be guilty of committing a crime usually requires the elements mens rea and actus reus, with the exception of some petty offenses and administrative infractions, and you have to know right from wrong.

The bottom line here is since neither of us know all the facts of the case wouldn't you think it a bit premature to pass judgement and sentence?

Many good people fought in that war back in 1776. Two of my ancestors are among them. Do we now throw out everything that war was fought for based on the actions of a single sick individual? I think not.
