Response to your response
1. Tort - agreed. I think most folk are ont he same page on this one. Sure, it does help a few that get hurt when seeking help, but it hurts everyone else and the needs of many should outweigh the needs of a few.

2. Going to cost people a LOT of money. While some employers just offer health insurance, many offer it at subsidized cost. My company for instance covers 90% of my health insurance - I pay less then $100 a month. Your second point would devastate my finances and I'm sure I'm not alone.

3. Said standards for procedures do exist. And its more like #1 would impact #3, not the other way around. The problem is that people take a 'hands off' approach to their healthcare, assuming their physician is supposed to figure things out even if the patient fails to mention all the symptoms or ask all the right questions. And since we the patients can't or won't do that, the doctors have to cover themselves and test for everything. This can only be truly addressed with a change in attitude by the people.

4. End prolonging life. My friend, up until this point I didn't like you, but that changed. I absolutely aggree that this is the single worst side effect of modern medicine. We are overpopulating the planet because medicine has taken on the role of keeping people alive that should have died a LONG time ago. Unforutnatly this flies smack in the face of the ill-guided morals that people pride themselves on. They call it 'compassion.' I see nothing compassionate about forcing a person to lay in bed all day, unable to move or even do something as simple as feed or clean themselves. I think its sick and disgusting practice, yet it pays. Euthenasia needs to be legalized ASAP. Its my body and its absolutely no-bodys business but mine what happens with it.

5. Very much agree with this point too. Between #4 and #5, we don't really need to do anything else. Just these 2 things would solve all of our problems, not just with health care, but with food and goods shortages, world overpopulation, wars, global warming. You name a current crisis and I can clearly show how decreased world population would alleviate or eliminate said crisis.

6. Ehh, a very limited view of the situation. There is also the practice of repatenting patented medicines with slight modifications and continuing charging premium prices for em. Honestly though, I have no sympathy for folks stuck needing such expensive medicines as the conditions they treat (cholesterol, blood pressure, cardiovascular, ED, etc etc) are for the most part avoidable via your point #5.

7. Yes, agree with this point as well. Unforutnatly that will never happen. Too much money flowing there. HOWEVER, "Obamacare" will do more to address this point then anything else.

In fact, for all your attacking on the Obama health care, it will actually address some of this points. It would help with point 7. It should also work towards point #5 and to a lesser extent #2.

And finally, your ideas will not actually have a zero cost. #3 will have large bill that will be required for this regulation. #2 may save tax money but will cost people a LOT more. Nothing is quite as black and white as you present it. For instance refusing care for related illnesses for bad died and smoking may seem like a good idea until those folk start dying off and stop paying taxes as a result. There are consequences to everything and you have to consider unintended ones as much as or more so then intended ones.
