RE: Will Chrome endanger Android?
You obviously don't own a netbook. I've had an Acer for quite sometime now. Although I do use it to access the Internet, I actually use it to run Microsoft Office more than anything else. Probably 90% of my time on that handy little computer is with Office. I doubt if I even use 1% of the time on it to access the Internet. I've used it for pretty much everything except high-end games, which the graphics processor isn't able to handle. My desktop has a killer graphics card for things like that.

Netbooks don't have to be used exclusively as a means to access the Internet. They're real computers. Just smaller. Although with a Chrome OS based netbook, that's about all they'll be able to do unless Google revamps their plans for the "OS".

Furthermore, I am not a M$ fanboy by any stretch of the imagination. I also run Linux on my netbook and own a MacBook Pro.

You should check out what netbooks can really do before coming to the erroneous conclusion that they are only Internet access toys. The name is a misnomer for the current breed of Windows and Linux netbooks. I know a few other people who own netbooks and they also use them for many things other than Internet access.

BTW, I am going to upgrade my desktop to Win 7, but I'm sticking with XP on the netbook. It works fine and because I'm not the foolhardy M$ fanboy you seem to think I am, I have no intention of needlessly upgrading the OS on that computer. I think the upgrade will be worth the $50 I spent to preorder it for my desktop though. Time will tell on that.

At any rate, would I cripple my netbook with an OS like what Google has proposed for Chrome? Not a snowball's chance in hell. happy
