I can't believe we are even having this conversation
Android is an OS designed with smart phones in mind. Chrome is designed with netbooks in mind. The Google brass NEVER suggested Android would be a good fit for netbooks. The only ones who have are people who had no idea Google was designing an OS for netbooks. Chrome's announcement should have ended all discussions about putting Android on netbooks.

Now asking for Android compatibility on Chrome is another issue. I think it would be reasonable to think Chrome may have this capability, because Android apps are run on a Java-based virtual machine (Dalvik). All Chrome needs is a port of this VM, then they would have Android compatibility. But at the OS level they would remain different operating systems on different code bases, which is the right thing to do because we are talking about completely different hardware configurations and completely different software requirements.
