Sure it is
I have 5 machines running. All with XP Pro, Two with er...make that three with Vista U, two with Win 7 RC (up to date), and 3 with Fedora. I do a lot of photography both Video and still, IOW AVI work and have found Vista U to be a royal pain. The vendors of some very expensive hardware have chosen not to write drivers for Vista, or Win 7, hence I will probably keep using XP pro on at least two computers for as long as I can keep it running. I have at least one copy of Win 7 and one of Vista U running, and one with XP Pro 24 X 7. I find that I inevitably go back to XP Pro from Both Vista U and Win 7 for most apps.

I do find Win 7 to be much more compact than Vista, but navigating through directories ( I have no idea why they call them folders ) is far, far easier and more logical in XP. I despise Windows Media Center, particularly when there are much better play back programs for free and relatively inexpensive programs that do the same thing for input, only better.

"To Me", Win 7 is just a slimmed down fix for Vista and should be considered an update rather than an upgrade. After all, it looks and feels like Vista and is organized like Vista as far as the end user is concerned.

I liked XP, but Vista put me on the track for eventually shifting to LINUX and I'll probably move away from windows in the future if I can find drivers for my equipment.
