Then let's take it
question by question:

Can the iphone be erased remotely by IT in case of a lost or stolen phone?
No

Isn't that considered "remote wipe"? And not only does the iPhone enterprise software provide that, so does mobileme with 3.0

Can the iphone be easily setup and managed by a centralized server?
No

This one I can't say I have an answer to - I've never had to set up either or manage either by a centralized server. I'd imagine that it would be pretty easy because Apple's software is very user friendly and intuitive... but I cannot say for certain. But the link does mention something about device configuration.

Can you log call and sms information for the iphone on a centralized server?
No

Is that not what the certificates and identities is used for? Like I said above I don't deal with enterprise functionality with either my iPhone or BB - my work BB is not tied into an enterprise system so I honestly have no idea.

Can you lock the features of a phone down to increase security and productivity from a centralized server?
No

Actually I think this one might be correct... but I have a feeling with Steve Jobs being a pretty major control freak (look at the steps Apple's iPhone devs have taken to crack down on jailbreaking) I have a feeling that there is a way.

Both fzr600vw and you make some valid points and unlike my back and forth with NZ for fun and profit (well my amusement really... LOL) I'm not trying to tick you gents off or expose a rabid anti-apple stance. Seriously as a person who manages blackberry devices have you had the opportunity to get into the iPhone enterprise software? I'd be interested just for my own curiosity how the two differ and why you would recommend against it.
