- please look up "Straw Man" in the dictionary...
-
it is absurd to claim that the internet is the cause of the
common cold! Hogwash! let's be clear: 1) the internet is
good; 2) common colds are obviously bad; therefore the
internet is obviously not the cause of the common cold -
and the sooner the traditional media wake up and realize
this the better...
------
hogwash? of course it's hogwash... when you create a
fictional point of view and then demolish it you are not
"demonstrating" anything. it doesn't even rise to the level
of editorial opinion. this kind of sophistry is blatantly
disingenuous - is this what passes for journalism on the
net these days?
now *there's* a question i'd like to see answered.
bvb
- and what in god's name does this have to do with Apple?
because Apple is now an industry heavyweight they bear
some sort of burden to "raise the level of discourse about
the scapegoating of the Internet"?? how and why the hell
does selling a bucket-load of iPods endow them with the
responsibility to "set the moral and ethical tone for the use
of the Internet"??
it seems like there are other companies which have a far
greater responsibility to step up and become champions of
our cyber-freedom... i'll leave it to you to take an educated
guess on that one...
truth is, unless i notice a real noticeable upswing in the
quality of the writing here i'm going to unsubscribe...
this is the text of the sponsored link directly to the right of
my comment box:
"Read this paper to make achieve compliance with Oracle
solutions"
it speaks - unfortunately - for itself.
and *that* ain't no straw man.
