IMO the biggest problem with Linux is there is no standardization; businesses choose Microsoft because let's face it, most businesses are stupid and want choices made for them, or want to choose between one or two things based on their needs.

Linux instead has what, over 100 distros (with only around 5 or so being well-known) and nearly every application on Linux has at least two variations because open-sourcers are adverse to the notion of only ever having one way to do something; there always has to be a "choice" of applications that do the exact same things, but this choice is exactly why most businesses DON'T go with Linux - who wants to decide between three different office suites, or half a dozen web browsers or utilities? Remember, for a BUSINESS standardization is key; you NEED to have everybody on a single platform and with a single suite of applications. I know that there are "sensible defaults" for most of these options (e.g. OpenOffice, Firefox) but still, the plethora of choices confuses your average person, especially when you have open-sourcers who religiously defend their personal preference no matter what.
