Nice to wish for.
I feel the same about going after the source.

I don't think it's practical because the internet is all about freedom. The only way to control malware is to issue global licenses which could be revoked. Without a valid "license", you would not be able to get on the Internet. Maybe it will happen someday.

My feeling is that (based on current trends) Windows will eventually reach a breaking point where it can't be repaired. i.e., People will only be able to use a fresh install of Windows without connecting to the Intenet and only with stand alone programs. You just have to view the articles on ZDNet. And ZDNet gets most of it's revenue from MS advertising.

The switch to LInux is imperative for people to stay connected on the Internet.
