We no longer have an Internet.
What once was a proliferation of small networks connected by multiple pipelines is now a few large and unruley networks controlled, or out of control, by a few large companies. These large networks are impossible to manage and maintain, at a reasonable cost. This has led to the massive amount of junk hogging the bandwidth and costing Internet users $billions.

Those who created the Internet in the beginning knew what they were doing. They created a nearly impervious data highway. Easy to manage and impossible to bring down.

The few large companies that now control what once was an Internet have lost control and the resulting chaos is fast making the so called Internet a place people are afraid to visit.

While a few large versus many small infrastructure may be good for the auto industry, it is killing the Internet. Everyone is running around trying to figure out how to clean things up and make the Internet safe. There is only one way, bring the real Internet back. Big business and the greed that exudes from such is destroying what could have been one of man's greatest achievements.

When did the Internet begin its decline? When it became about big business instead of about technology!
