The Linux advantage is...
Even though Linux cannot prevent your browser from going to a malware site, it can help prevent you from getting infected. First, since most malware is written for Windows, chances are it won't install properly on Linux, even if you have Wine installed. Second, even if the malware happens to have been written for Linux, it probably won't install properly because it won't have root privileges.
Of course, nothing can prevent a stupid user from screwing up his own machine (I know, because I've done it).
