I'll denounce you as "worse". You are not in favour of restoring prohibition but believe that government should be able to "ban the manufacture, sale or consumption of alcohol". Hmmm, that oddly sounds like, um, prohibition! Your are both opposed and in favor of prohibition. Wonderful.

You state many drinkers are responsible but many are not. That is that best example of a wishy-washy statement. So we have a large number of people who are responsible drinkers but we also have a large number of people who are not responsible drinkers. Wow. What was your point again?

Show me the studies indicating that consuming alcohol "has a large number of social costs associated with it". Show me the data that state and local governments are spending "large amounts of money to mitigate" these social costs?
