Pointless

It's pointless to argue with someone as
unreasonable as yourself. You want to blame
microsoft for uneducated users? Even with all
the hand-holding that windows provides? What
if the users are on a mac and safari gets
hijacked? Is that apple's fault that the user
was foolish enough to click on a malicious
banner ad?

What if it was in a non-computing context?
What if a couple was walking down the street
and asked a stranger to take their picture, but
the stranger ran away with the camera? Would
that be the fault of the city? Or would it be
the fault of the couple for trusting a stranger
with their expensive electronics? Or would it
be the fault of the stranger for being a
criminal?

The point is, in the first example, it would
not be Apple's fault. But it is in their best
interest to provide protection for their users.
They can't be expected to be perfect, but at
the same time if they completely disregard
their users' security, they will lose
customers. And in the second example, it is in
the city's interest to keep their citizens
safe. So they have laws, and provide police
officers to keep the citizens safe. Does that
mean they will stop all crime? Hell no.
