I used the internet before it became the web
usenet, uucp ftp etc... I used them all for research
and entertainment and was awestruck even then at the
potential. When i left my research role and went into
IT (doubling my money) I tried to get people
interested in the internet... rather fruitlessly "what
will we use it for" was the cry, "we need a business
model", "I cant see a way to make money" and on and on
it went. Several years later when I left the company
they were beginning to see the potential, but I was no
longer interested in hitting my head against the wall.
Still applies I guess
