so now we have 5 different manufacturers with 5 different ways to close a window or open an app?

I agree that Apple has the right to patent certain features, but this just makes it hard on the consumer - which multi-touch manufacturer do I choose? Because once I learn THEIR multi-touch, I won't ever want to learn another one.

Should we be able to patent a mouse click, or a finger push, or a swipe? I really don't know the answer, but it seems like you shouldn't.

It's like the big hubbub with Amazon's "one-click checkout" patent.
