Yes, there are cheaper ways to get demos, but the issue is that you can get hundreds of demos at Comdex. I still think it has some revelance, maybe in a smaller scale.

A of note about Comdex.

The people of Las Vegas really don't like it. Most of the 'geek' types that go to LV don't like to gamble. The casinos get very quiet during that week. It took the people of LV a couple of years to figure out where those 'geeks' were going. So now during Comdex (in LV) you see signs that advertize, Worlds topless dance competition championship Nov xx-xx (the week of Comdex of course).
