Surely Personalization is the next big thing
A customer wants X1.
Another customer wants X2.
A third wants X3.

Their local shop sells (X1+X2+X3)/3

My point is this: anyone can buy everything they need on the high street, they don't need the internet. But what they get in the shop isn't what they want, its the *average* of what the people in their area want.

Surely the next big thing isn't selling them (X1+X2+X3)/3 in a faster and more efficient way, surely its about selling one person X1, one person X2 and another X3 and charging them the premium they are prepared to pay for getting *exactly* what they want, and not a mass marketed Walmart generic.

In other words, variations of the 'Dell' idea of make to order custom computers. Custom clothes you design yourself, custom lamps for your home, custom jewelry you design yourself....
