Open Positions Because Nobody Wants Them
With the cost of living being what it is in the aforementioned areas of the country it's no surprise these jobs are open. For what they pay, no one can afford to come in and take them. Until salaries go up or the cost of living comes down in those areas I doubt they are going to attract any real talent. Why not take the same job in Illinois where the money goes 1.5x as far?
