Two words. Thank God.

We're a country of diversity, diverse ideas, diverse needs and diverse people. We need to be able to unify without losing those ideals, that's not something MS does very well now or ever has done well in the past. Our new president has his weaknesses but the difference between him and SteveB or any of the people he's replacing is that he's aware of his weaknesses and addresses them. That's not something I've seen in most "leaders" though it helps a lot when in a leadership role. As for crushing Google or Apple, MS isn't equipped to take on Google and Apple has been around for as long as it has for a reason. The only way Apple will die is if it kills itself.
