No business case, yet, to move to new OS platform
Basically, the issue is not market share arguments between geeks that drive CIO decisions. The issue is value, Vista SP1 is best suited for new systems rather than upgrades on older systems running XP. This does not mean you can't run Vista on some older systems, but what are the compelling reasons for a business to do so?

How will this save them money?

Is there an application set that is so compelling and that only runs on Vista that most businesses must have?

Until there is that killer app that only runs on Vista, there are no compelling reasons to purchase Vista. I run Vista Ultimate on a PC at home that came with Vista pre-loaded. It was not impressive and there were serious problems with network shares, USB file transfers between devices and I needed to upgrade my video card to get Aero to work. The video card was not a Microsoft problem, it was just that there was no video card offered to me by Dell at the time I bought the system (June 2007) that could take advantage of what Vista brought to the table. I purchased a better video card in December 2007 and with SP1, I have had a very good Vista experience. No issues, ever, with DRM and I collect bootleg video of rock concerts and can burn them to DVD with no problems. But there was really no reason, no killer app, no compelling business case for me to have the Vista box, there is nothing there I can't do in XP or Unbuntu that I can do in Vista at this time. And that is the crux of the "Vista problem", it does not solve many problems. Sure the security is better, it runs well on new hardware and has lots of eye candy, but there are few reasons why everyone must have it. I call it a nice to have OS, but not a must have if you are not a geek.
