RE: A guide to cutting IT costs
This isn't worse than the DOT.com, it is the same bubble. The DOT.com bubble was inflated by a massive theft of 401K (retirement) money. This bubble was inflated by stealing mortgages, the other way that people save for retirement. Both are the same theft. Two bank jobs, the same serial thief!

Is IT in for a spanking? Yep. Do they deserve it, in general? Yep. If a company you serve goes down the tubes, and you promised that IT projects would make oodles of money, when the reverse happens you get smacked.

You want to get in on the next big thing? Cell phone processors, running Android, faster than Intel's best. Yep. Better than their best.

Be bold, tell your company to switch to Free Software. Pare those software budgets, keep your job!
