Market share vs. profits
As many pointed out, the cost of the OS may be a prohibitive factor in this situation. On the flip side, the Chinese have pretty much ignored copyrights from all over the world and steal IP from everywhere whenever they get the chance. So there's a paradox here, how to achieve market share and profits by doing business in China?

Historically, it appears that MS accepted some level of casual piracy but has "tightened up" globally with WGA. This will likely lead to decreased market share in many markets unless MS lowers prices, which usually does not lead to greater profits. It's not a bad position to be in, but a choice will have to be made sooner or later.
