Having owned 2 computers that had ARM processors (Acorn Archimedes A3000 and A5000) all I can say is that it sounds more of sour grapes on Intel's part. Even back then my 2Mhz machine was out performing the 66Mhz 486DX2 and Pentium based PCs - making it incredibly funny that running a 25Mhz 486SX emulator on my old ARM based machine still was faster than my old roommate's PC for most of his games and the GUI was the best at the time in my opinion, plus of course they used a LOT less power. Shame they stopped making the computers. Also having written software for the ARM chipset all I can say is that any slowdowns are more than likely software based.
