No way can or should apple offer OS X for non-Apple PCs. Too much incompatibility & bloat. WIndows is all screwed up because of interoperability & device drivers that conflict with each other. Furthermore, apple would have to dumb-down the operating system to support lowest common denominator. I *hate* having to chew up memory, disk, and precious interrupts and DMA locations to add hooks for hardware I don't have. Apple is successful because they control the hardware and minimize incompatibility risk.
