Windows loses monopoly status
Though I would argue that the viability of Linux on the desktop (as argued by so many people on these forums) is argument enough that Windows isn't a monopoly, if Apple were to release Mac OS X as a standalone OS, there's no way that the monopoly status would stand. Then Microsoft can go back to all the business practices that are currently banned (the practices that Apple, Linux distributors, etc all currently do). Careful what you wish for...
